Bohemia Interactive recently took to the airwaves to provide the Arma 3 community with a peek into the franchise’s future. During the event, the team revealed a pair of exciting news items that should be of interest to fans of the series.
Arma Reforger
Arma Reforger is available in early access on PC and for Xbox Series X/S via Game Preview and showcases the studio’s progress on the all-new Enfusion game engine. It offers users multiple tools and services to help modify and adjust the gaming experience. It is a standalone install and players are invited to try it out and provide feedback to the development team.
Features include:
- Players return to Everon, a fictional 1980s setting. The map has been reimagined and recreated with additional improvements including ponds, lakes, rivers, etc.
- Two multiplayer game modes: Conflict (team v team) with base building, task completion, battlefield promotions, two factions, authentic weapons/vehicles/equipment. Game Master is a real-time scenario editor that allows players to emulate a tabletop experience on the fly
- Workbench is a way for users to share their created content
Arma 4
Not a whole lot was said about Arma 4, but the team did produce a video to showcase the “road to Arma 4” with a peek at some of the terrain and vehicles being included and at the power of the new game engine.
