If you spent this last weekend seeing the feature film “Terminator: Dark Fate”, you may also be interested to check out the latest gameplay trailer from Terminator: Resistance. While not a direct tie-in to the cinema release movie, it’s a game that is packed with familiar lore for fans of the series.
Resistance is considered a prequel to the original series film and puts characters in the shoes of Jacob Rivers. He is part of John Connor’s plan to take down Skynet, the nameless, faceless machine entity that is set on destroying humanity in the future.
The trailer shines the spotlight on gameplay rather than story, however, and showcases combat. It’s important to note that, while combat will be an important aspect of the game, players will also need to develop their sneakier side. Stealth will be crucial to get past Terminators that can’t be defeated with conventional weapons. Those lucky enough to have a laser weapon or an electric knife will be able to take on Terminators in more traditional combat if desired. There are also flying drones and turrets to defeat.
Terminator: Resistance is set for release for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on December 10th in North America (November 15th in Europe and Australia). Learn more on the game’s official site.
