No Man’s Sky update adds weekend missions & more

No Man's Sky

The latest update to No Man’s Sky has been deployed that brings a plethora of bug fixes into the game as well as the new Weekend Missions feature. The patch news was revealed on the game’s official site that also spoke of how hard the team has been working on quality of life improvements and bug fixes as well as acknowledging the community’s awesome creations.

Weekend Missions will send players off to a specific planet that will “tell a story that will unfold over the coming months”. Players are offered “significant quicksilver rewards” for their participation. Each week, a new chapter will become available in the Nexus. These will run from Friday evening through Monday morning (GMT) and devs assure players that missing a weekend is not a big deal. “These missions will continue to run for the foreseeable future”.

Players will also be able to take a look at some of the “ingenious bases” that community members have built. A special “Space Anomaly Teleporter” will provide a selection of some of the best bases that have been discovered. “We hope it will showcase all you talented builders and bring every player an ever-changing cycle of spectacular planets and architectural creativity,” the blog reads. Developers will generally select which bases will be showcased. However, players can also submit their bases for a chance to be selected for the spotlight.

Lastly, the blog announces that a future update will “address a whole heap of community requests” and that the team is hard at work preparing it.
