Crytek's Hunt: Showdown Receives Massive Update

Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown has received the massive v1.12 update that brings a range of improvements and bug fixes into the game. The team also revealed that the new player onboarding experience is “dramatically improved,” along with two new tutorials.

New players will have two new tutorials to work through, the Basic Tutorial and the Advanced Tutorial. Each offers an array of “lessons” about how to play the game.

  • The Basic Tutorial introduces players to the game’s core elements through a guided mission. An NPC offers guided instruction on becoming a Hunter with custom objectives “supported by hints and corresponding entries” on the map. Once complete, players are rewarded with the Tier 1 Hunter designation and they keep all the goodies earned during the tutorial.
  • The Advanced Tutorial continues the lessons with much less guidance. Players will need to use their savvy skills to find a Boss to fight and banish.  “Compared to the Basic Tutorial, the Advanced Tutorial offers neither a narrator nor a detailed guide. Hints will help players to understand important beats and learn about other monster types and tactical options available to them.”

Other features of the v1.12 update include

  • New Questlines – The Ward of the Reptilian and Vengeance of the Skinned will follow soon after this Questline ends. Each Questline offers Hunters new activities and valuable rewards to earn across six acts. Rewards include unlocking new weapon variants, Legendary equipment, and more.
  • New Wildcard Contract – Update 1.12 adds a new Wildcard Contract option which allows Hunters to play during a specific Time of Day.
  • Solo Player Improvements, Combat Logs and More – Players can now see up to 90 seconds of activity before their demise to understand how they were killed and what they can do better next time, with detailed stats included. The update also adds new Solo-only conditional effects for specific Traits to help level the playing field for those who dare to take on teams of Hunters alone. Audio, gameplay, and weapon improvements, alongside various bug fixes, also arrive in the update.
