Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have some bad news for eager Dead Island 2 fans. The game is being delayed again. Most recently, devs announced that DI2 would arrive on February 3, 2023. However, in a new Twitter post, the team said it needs “just 12 short weeks” to perfect the game. As a result, the new release date is April 28, 2023.
Developers wrote, “The irony of delaying DI2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are. The delay is just 12 short weeks, and development is on the final straight now. We’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.”
“In the meantime, we will be releasing an exciting new trailer and gameplay at the DI2 showcase, which will premier on December 6th on our Twitch and YouTube channels as well as on the DI2 website.”
When it ultimately launches, DI2 will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store. PC players interested in pre-ordering the game can do so at EGS.
