United 1944 Offers Fans a Free Play Weekend Later This Month

Novarama has great news for FPS fans who are looking to see what United 1944 is all about. From September 29th to October 1st, players can try out the game during a free play weekend, including new content for veterans to explore. The open beta weekend will be available for PC players via Steam.

The World War II action-FPS game puts players on the frontlines of French guerilla warfare during the height of the resistance. Players will wing their way to a North African battlefield or hunt for loot in the new Survivor game mode.

Developers have released a new trailer that shines a light on many of the game’s features. It also provides viewers with a peek into locations, mechanics, and other features modern FPS players expect.

Two game modes will be part of the UNITED 1944 playtest weekend. Teamwork is the key to dominance in urban warfare. Players will be scavenging for resources, fortifying bases, defending outposts, crafting their gear, and fighting the enemy. The game offers an immersive take on WWII battles that aims to be realistic yet rooted in fun gameplay. Squad up in 16v16 domination matches in the WW2 theaters of a new map set in France, where heavy fighting between the Allies and the Axis took the spotlight after D-Day, and a revamped and improved North Africa map, with better team balancing and new landmarks.
