Plaion and Toylogic have announced the release dates for Warlander on PC and console. PC players will be able to launch into the free-to-play TPS starting January 24, 2023 via Steam. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will have to wait until April 2023 to get started. While the PC open beta has just wrapped up, the development team has plans for a smaller-scale closed beta in mid-December. Presumably, this CBT will include updated features based on findings from the 2-month open beta.
The game was originally set for an early access release. However, developers opted to go straight to full retail release instead.
“The reason for this is that we chose to dedicate the time and effort that it would take to set up the Early Access version of Warlander and put that time and effort into the release. Not much changes with this, as you will still have the opportunity to test and provide feedback on monetization and other core features at release.” the team wrote.
Toylogic had hoped to release the game in December. However, and because “you guys are too good at your job,” devs opted for January. This will allow time for them to cull through feedback, suggestions, and bug reports ahead of release.
