Take a peek at some new sci-fi RTS action out in the great expanse in a new Falling Frontier trailer.

Sci-fi strategy Falling Frontier has a new trailer, and it deploys an explosive mix of action, strategy, and new intelligence for us to loving gaze at. Due to jump onto PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic, Falling Frontier is a space race where it’ll take more than overwhelming Martian forces to win the day. The upcoming sci-fi challenge unveiled several new ships as they enter combat in the unforgiving vacuum of space. While you can check them out above, they include:

  • Berwick Frigate – a forward observer/spotter, with the ability to lay mines with the right module installed.
  • Coventry Frigate – an escort frigate with plenty of armaments.
  • York Frigate – A scout frigate with advanced sensor modules, as well as optional defensive options.
  • Faslane Frigate – A frigate specializing in stealth, with options for both missile pods and support drones.

While it’s easy to be distracted by the shiny new spaceships, the trailer also reveals updated visuals and UI, to the next evolution of the detailed ship designer. The inclusion of a new jump graphic for FTL travel between locations is especially striking. There’s more than just a nice aesthetic, the news also covers mechanics, such as ships being built on planets and sent into space, and resource pods being sent down to the planet’s surface before being added to a player’s resource pool. While we’re already excited for the release of Homeworld 3, this alternate sci-fi RTS provides its own compelling twist on space combat. In Frontier Trailer players take control of a space faring fleet and conquer a vast procedurally generated star system. Recon and logistics play vital importance here, with a massive tactical space to cover and vast supply chains to exploit or attack.
