Darkpaw Games has much to celebrate as 2023 winds down with expansion milestones for their beloved games, EverQuest and EverQuest II. Both MMORPGs will be receiving an expansion in the coming months. Venerated EverQuest will see the launch of Laurion’s Song, its 30th expansion since its launch in 1999. Meanwhile, EverQuest II will receive its 20th expansion when Ballads of Zimara launches in the coming months.
Developers are excited to announce that both expansions are now available for preorder, granting access to beta testing opportunities. Players will need to head to each game’s official site to check out the details.
Both expansions come in four different editions: Standard for $34.99, Collector’s for $69.99, Premium for $139.99, and Family & Friends for $249.99. Each edition features its own set of in-game goodies along with the expansion content itself.
Laurion’s Song
- The level cap will rise to 125
- Players can explore seven expansion zones, including an inn, a “forge of miracles,” and a war-torn forest.
- Opportunities galore come via new raids, quests, and missions
- Battle becomes more strategic thanks to new spells, combat abilities, and AAs

Ballads of Zimara
- Advanced Research allows players to expand their arsenals interactively.
- Chrono Dungeons allow players to “re-challenge favorite encounters.”
- New Adventure, Tradeskill, and Signature quests await “as you explore soaring new regions.”
- New Solo, Heroic, and Raid content from the Plane of Sky.
