Cosy adventure game Fall of Porcupine will be given away to healthcare professionals next year.

Developer BUNTSPECHT.GAMES and publisher Assemble Entertainment announced last night that they’re giving away cosy adventure Fall of Porcupine absolutely free to healthcare professionals. In a move that seems similar to the Covid inspired giveaway Games for Carers, this adorable title is free to play for 1000 healthcare professionals when the game launches in 2023.

The give away seems particularly apt, as the title follows a freshly graduated Med school student getting ready for their first residency in a brand new small town. What seems like a modest and inviting adventure soon turns into something of an arduous trek to provide medical care and support. This means the central protagonist must lean on friends for advice as he navigates a struggling healthcare industry rooting for his demise. While this narrative is hardly a getaway for a hard working healthcare staff, the narrative is an heartfelt tale about the hardships endured by those in the healthcare industry. It is also a love letter to the human journey of self-discovery, love, and the joys that come with life’s big and small accomplishments along the way. Hopefully those that do pick it up will find that it does strike a balance between entertainment and realism. The team behind this unexpected adventure interviewed a total of 20 healthcare professionals from varying sectors to understand the challenges and real life implications of their actions. So this giveaway seems like something of a thank you to those involved in making Fall of Porcupine.

For those healthcare professionals interested in redeeming the offer on Steam, please reach out directly to healthcare@porcupine.game and read the Conditions for Participation. Fall of Porcupine is coming to Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in 2023. The free prologue, called The Last Days of Summer, is currently available on all platforms, and has already enjoyed over 100,000 downloads. Find out more in the dev video above or here.
