Fire For Free in Steel Aces

Armative Studios just revealed a whole ton of information and a Steam Store page for upcoming tank MMO Steel Aces.

Climb in, chamber a shell, and prepare to bow away your friends in 2024. You can now Wishlist the latest large scale tank sim to hit the market, but hopefully this one is going to be worth keeping in your crosshair. After a quick reccy to Gamescom, the team behind this armored firefight have detailed what players can expect to get when they pick up the free to play tank sim.

Steel Aces is a free to play massive multiplayer tank shooter that allows commanders to take control of their own tank. Across the trenches of WWI to contemporary war machines, players can engage in gripping campaigns inspired by real locations and historical events such as The Battle of Cambrai (1917), The Battle of Khalkhin Gol (1939), The Battle of Arras (1940), The Battle of the Bulge (1944), and The Battle of Chawinda (1965) and many more. You’re not likely to get stuck in a quagmire set in a singular era here. Taking inspiration from history doesn’t mean that players will be bound to know what’s coming next. While players can expect some artistic licence, this meaning there seems to be a focus on gameplay first.

That gameplay doesn’t just require a tank rush to come out on top. At the highest level, players will need to know how the title’s meticulously designed armour and ballistics system impacts their own units. Interior layout, armour setup, and more setup options mean that this won’t just be fire and forget. This balance of content and combat also means that the developers behind Steel Aces are aiming for a balanced monetization model, featuring cosmetics like skins and decals as well as progression boosters and exclusive collector’s vehicles. For me, it’s all a bit big gun go boom, but I’m not a warfare expert. If you think you’ll do better than me, head over to the official Steam Store page now to Wishlist Steel Aces now.
