Five Million Sales for Dying Light 2 in One Month & 20 Million for Dying Light 1

Games are quickly accepted or dismissed as successes or failures based on how many copies they sell. Some games will never reach one thousand sales and that doesn’t mean they were necessarily bad. Triple-A titles are ones that we expect to do really well and even with some sort of high sales levels they may still be failures.

This is not the case with the Dying Light franchise though. Dying Light 2 has only just come out and it has already surpassed five million in sales. At the same time, Dying Light 1 has achieved over 20 million in sales since it launched. The first one I have played and loved every minute of it.

While I have yet to play Dying Light 2: Stay Human, I have watched many streamers playing it and it seems like a genuinely good time. A good follow-up to the first game.

“The success of the Dying Light franchise is a great example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players,” said Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka in a press release.

This is the sentiment I feel about the franchise as I have always had fun with it.
