Amazon Games has announced the arrival of the latest update to New World, which includes the fearsome Turkulon event. This fearsome turkey arrives just in time for the US Thanksgiving holiday season. This formidable beast is bent on revenge for all those players wantonly slaying innocent turkeys throughout the year. The event runs from now through December 6th and players will be able to collect some unique rewards.
As rumors circled of a giant, monstrous bird and pamphlets started hitting the town boards, the Farmer (not one to spoil good publicity) promptly announced that he had created Turkulon the Peaceful Giant.
The holiday feast ensued, but Turkulon was not happy with the deaths of his feathered friends. The turkeys of Aeternum have been hunted for centuries. But during the fall seasons, the hunted become the hunters as Turkulon seeks vengeance on all settlers for its fallen flock!
During the event, players can collect a number of rewards for protecting the town and defeating the terrifying Turkulon. Rewards include a Turkulon Skinning Knife, the Infused Turkey Coating, and a Turkuless Disgruntled Fowl Pet.
Regular turkeys can also drop different loot. If a player uses the Turkulon’s Claw Skinning Knife to “finish your food,” even more rewards can drop. Regular turkeys have a 10% chance to drop this awesome knife. Additional rewards include Diamond Gypsum, Turkey’s Treasure, Turkulon’s Claw Skinning Knife.
The entire event originally started as an office joke. Developers dreamed of a giant turkey with laser eyes that would become a world boss. Apparently, recognizing a good thing, the team went with it and created this annual event. According to the patch notes, the 2022 version of Turkulon is vastly improved over last year’s. Time will tell if the playerbase agrees.
