Krafton has announced that Halloween Battle Royale has resurrected itself for 2023 in PUBG: Battlegrounds. Players can choose from an array of spooky-themed characters, board the Ghost Ship, and perpetrate bloody mayhem in a Dark Erangel. As always, the fight is the last player standing.
Players can find the annual event in the Arcade menu. Once matchmaking is complete, players can choose one of four specially-themed classes before literally diving into the action.
Halloween Battle Royale classes
- Executioner: “I’m here for the SLAUGHTERFEST!” An Executioner is your classic melee warrior that can chase down or pull enemies in for brutal combat.
- Ranger: “Always stay alert. I might come for you from atop the trees, the thickest undergrowth, or from right behind you.” A Ranger can either become a sniper who deals damage from afar or a stealthy assassin that dives in for a sneak attack.
- Pyromancer: “Aah… the smell of burning flesh.” A Pyromancer specializes in assaulting multiple enemies at once with deadly fire.
- Cleric – “I’m not a nice doctor; BLEED to HEAL!”
The event uses special items, so players must hit the ground running to find the materials needed to craft weapons, ammo, throwables, boosts, or equipment. Bandages, however, will spawn.
Along the way, treasure chests will fall from the sky that can contain general and Level 5 crafting ingredients. These chests are marked on the map, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who will survive long enough to claim it. This isn’t your mama’s treasure chest either: Players must damage it to open it.
