Cuphead is one of the most acclaimed and beloved games of the past decade, and this Friday, September 29th, it’s receiving a special 6th-anniversary Xbox exclusive update. Xbox and Windows game fans will receive an exclusive update that includes all sorts of behind-the-scenes. Fans can travel back in time to the game’s archives via the new “Bonus” menu that links to an Art Gallery, a Music Player, and a Behind-the-Scenes development video.
The new content includes over 100 hi-res photos packed with concept art, unused art pieces, and all 86 tracks from the game’s OST. There’s even a never-yet-heart MIDI demo track from Kris Maddigan playing in the background of the Bonus menu.
“When it comes to the kindness and support the Xbox community has shown us all these years – all the way back to the very first teasers and snippets of Cuphead – no amount of thanks feels like enough,” says Studio MDHR Studio Director Maja Moldenhauer. “We really consider this update just a small token of our immense gratitude, and hope that everyone enjoys it as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
The announcement of the Cuphead anniversary update was made via Xbox Wire. The post also offers some insight into what fans will see when, for instance, they view pen-and-paper concept art.
