You’d be hard-pressed to find anybody who plays video games who has not heard of the Witcher franchise. Inspired by the Andrzej Sapkowsk’s stories, CD Projekt Red’s Witcher 3 generated over $250 million when it hit shelves. However, you might find quite a few of you have not had the chance to enjoy Geralt’s of Rivia’s first adventure. Now you can, for free.
CD Projekt Red is giving away The Witcher: Enhanced Edition via the GoG platform. To grab a PC copy you will need to first register for Gwent, the online Witcher card game. Once you have completed step one, head over to the GOG website and sign up to the platform’s newsletter. Upon completing this quest, you will receive a copy of the famed hunter’s first outing and a free Gwent card keg.
The enhanced edition of The Witcher brings a whole new veneer to the opening moments of this groundbreaking franchise. New animations, a new inventory system, more responsive combat, a revised narrative, and a list of technical upgrades too long to list here are included. If you are still on the fence, then just check out the reviews over on the game’s GOG page.
