Get It Sorted With Less Than A Week To Go

You’ve been ill, the kids have been ill, there was too much festive cheer, and now there are no presents under the tree. Don’t panic because I’ll cover that bit. While I attempt to fill the gaps in my own nice list, let’s try to find some gaming gifts that will still make it to their intended recipients before the 25th December.

Philips Momentum 279M1RV Review

Philips Gaming 279M1RV

If you’ve got the money and want to splash out on something that the gamer in your life is unlikely to already have then the Philips Gaming 279M1RV will not disappoint. We tested this monitor from Philips earlier on in the year and while we got our eyeballs in front of lots of great displays, this one bundles in a vibrant Ambiglow add on. While RGB is readily used for decoration in plenty of setups, the Philips Gaming 279M1RV Ambiglow add in gives the entire gaming experience a atmosphere that is difficult to replicate. Alongside this feature you’ll be giving 4K of pixelated joy, clocking in at a speedy 144HZ, and packing in an impressive 1ms response time. With tons of connectivity, a great picture and HDR 600 all bundled in, the Philips Gaming 279M1RV is a great addition to any PC or Xbox Gaming setup.
UK and EMEA gamers can still grab the Philips Gaming 279M1RV for delivery from Amazon and other online retailers for around £750 /EYURO 750 or local equivalent.

Samsung Odyssey G70A

If you’re looking for something equivalent in the US then the Samsung 28″ Odyssey G70A is a top end Samsung panel that packs in 4K, HDR400, and a blistering 1ms response time. With equivalent specs and the backup of the highly regarded Samsung brand, the Odyssey G70A is available for delivery before your festivities commence. You can check it out over at Amazon or online retailers for just shy of $750.

Logitech G203

Make the festive stocking bright without RGB with the Logitech G203, still available across online retailers and on the Logitech site for express delivery ahead of that Silent Night. While the G203 is part of Logitech’s entry level line up, this affordable mouse still stacks up well against the competition. A 8,000 DPI gaming-grade sensor r is fully adjustable, firs into a huge eco system peripherals, and comes in a ton of colors. While sleek black with RGB accents has been the fad for many gamers, it’s likely that the G203 or one of the wider Logitech accessories will help bring a little bit of flair to the desktop.

AOC Gaming GK500

AOC GK500 Gaming Keyboard Review - picture of keyboard

Back in May 2021, AOC announced an intention to get into the PC peripheral market, The GK500 aims to be a mid-range balance between price, construction, aesthetics, and performance and is a great entry point for gamers looking to try out mechanical keyboards without the cost or time involved in picking up something custom. While we reviewed it back in late 2021, it still sits as one of my favorite entry level keyboards. Filled with Outemu Red Switch keys and backed up by great build quality, and plenty of features, this RGB keyboard is worth squeezing into your stocking and European readers can still get it delivered before the week is out by hitting up online stores.

Victrix Gambit Controller

While manufacturer PDP released the even more powerful Victrix Pro line-up this year, I’m still pretty attached to the Victrix Gambit controller and headset. This immensely customizable controller is a wonderful step up from the traditional Xbox handheld companion, and features featuring some of the fastest responses in the game. Despite not being the most expensive on the market, this is still my own go to controller, incorporating dual processors, swappable faceplates, adjustable clutch paddles, interchangeable analog sticks and more. It won’t feel nearly as premium as the Xbox Elite controller, but it’s a little more than half the price with all those extras. Check out our review for my impressions, which I still stand by. Coming in at around £90 or local equivalent we found this on store and online with courier delivery still available. This extra even fits in a festive stocking too.

Razer Barracuda X Wireless headset

Not Strictly a PlayStation only gift, but a great choice for anybody wanting to play more than God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn. The Razer Barracuda X is a multi-platform wireless headset that comes in at anywhere from $50-$70dolalrs and should satisfy anybody who doesn’t need Audeze level fidelity. Boxed with a wireless USB C adaptor, Bluetooth connectivity, a classy minimalist look, a detachable mic, and solid 40mm drivers, this is a great buy for any platform, and is stil available to pick up online and in stores. Find out more on the Razer website.

Gaming Clips and Controllers

Nope, as much as we would love a new gaming phone under the tree, you’ll probably struggle to get those out in time. Instead, you can’t really go wrong with a handheld controller. In this category, the Razer Kishi series provides a solid clamp form factor, The PowerA MOGA XP7-X provides a similar cloud capable sandwich, and the PowerA MOGA gaming clip is a great budget way to repurpose your existing handhelds without the same premium pay out that Razer demands. The Razer Kishi V2 is online and in stores for around $60-80 with the PowerA MOGA clip coming in at a cool $10-20 depending on your options.

Its already too late to get to the shops or hang around waiting for UPS, so what to do. Thankfully there are a few great digital deals on that should keep your gaming friends and relatives focused on the screen and away from those irritating family encounters.

It’s got to be said, Microsoft’s online subscription pass is incredible value. Available in a range of time frames and subscription models, this games as a service system unlocks an astounding library of online games to stream top tier AAA and tons of indie adventures across Xbox, PC, and mobiles. For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
