Legends Of Runeterra Wraps Up The Darkin Saga

Freljord Darkin - Legends Of Runeterra

Legends of Runeterra has just launched the conclusion to the epic The Darkin Saga – World Ender and you can experience the outcome now.

Riot game’s card battler Legends of Runeterra launched the latest installment of the epic Darkin Saga last night, brining tis narrative to a seismic conclusion and kicking off the fifth expansion for fans of Runeterra.

Regular players will be familiar with recent events in this world. For those that missed the chaos so far, the big bad Xolaani was once a beloved and respected healer, but when the wars broke out long ago, she lost sight of her purpose and used her hemomancy to manipulate her allies. The three new champions to enter this expansion were once allies of this fallen leader, finally drawing a line in the sand against a powerful threat.

Expansion Additions

Now that she’s awoken again, powerful forces are rallying against this encroaching evil. Thankfully, the new expansion brings a whole host of additions to the arena. Beyond the narrative questline, players shuffling the deck and preparing for another round in Runeterra will find themselves able to play using three new champions. Ryze, Kayle and the World Ender himself, Aatrox will be available for anybody dabbling in the expansion.

Aatrox
Aatrox builds an army of terrifying Darkin with his Origin “The World Ender” that allows any non-champion Darkin to be included in deck building.

Ryze
Ryze wields the power of the World Runes and brings the most expansive Origin yet, “The Rune Mage” allows Ryze to add any Burst spell during deck building.

Kayle
Kayle metes out divine justice and introduces the new mechanic “Empowered” into the game.

That’s not all either. A new Bloodwoven event begins as part of the update, exploring the alternate history where our Ascended Champions had fallen to Xolaani’s corruption and emerged a dark super power. Fort those that want to see some high-level gameplay instead, this new add on drops around the same time as the LoR World Championships. The World Championship group stages kick off across Thursday, December 8 and Friday, December 9, culminating in the World Championship Finals on Saturday, December 10. Anybody looking to take a look can tune in on Twitch today.

As for the expansion, get hyped to check out a bunch of new mechanics, tweaks, powerful cards, and a story that could shape Runtera forever. Find out more on the official Legends of Runeterra website now.
