Deep Silver has finally pulled back the curtain on the much-delayed Dead Island 2. During a recent live stream event, the dev team took to the airwaves with a brand-new gameplay trailer and a live-action trailer. Both, according to the team, feature “blood-pumping action.” Viewers were also treated to a peek inside pre-order editions of the game, including a “stunning, hand-painted resin collector figurine of Amy.”
The new Dead Island 2 Welcome To HELL-A Trailer also premiered – narrated by Jacob and Amy, two of the game’s slayers, as they visit HELL-A. Witness Dead Island 2’s unique gore tech, upgradable weapon and combat system, and, of course, its gruesome zombies. Join the slayers as they take you on a tour around the stylish, sunbaked zombie-smashing playground of HELL-A.
The showcase featured a live-action pulp adventure starring three fictional characters set in a similar universe to DI2. With the military long gone, viewers followed the survivors as they search for a safe haven from the virus outbreak and zombie hordes. As they roam the supposedly abandoned mansion of a local video game and movie producer in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, they’ll soon discover that nowhere is safe.
Players who wish to pre-order DI2 can do so. During the stream, devs revealed the physical “HELL-A Edition” that comes in a SteelBook, an expansion pass, a travel map, tarot cards, badges, and a patch. In-game items include a Golden Weapons Pack, Pulp Weapons Pack, and Character Packs 1 and 2. All players, including those who purchase digital editions, will receive the Memories of Banoi Pack, which includes a pair of weapons, a weapons perk, and a skills card.
Dead Island 2 is expected to arrive on April 28, 2023 for Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
