The team behind MOBA League of Legends released the latest dev update video. Join Jeremy “Riot Brightmoon” Lee, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, Eduardo “Riot Cadmus” Cortejoso, and Selina “ChooChoo Trainnnn” Liu as they share updates on Arena, Lee Sin’s ASU, and more. There is also the first look at the brand-new PvE mode to be released later this year.
In its most recent run, Arena was pretty successful, though the play hours decreased quite a bit over the course of its run. There will be some improvements to give it some extra variety and longevity. When Arena returns, it will have lobbies of 16 players per game. Players will also be able to enjoy a new class of items: Prismatics, which will completely alter the way you play Arena. The way in which you get items also changed. You’ll no longer only purchase items from the shop, now you can gamble using anvils to purchase some items at lower cost.
The game will receive its first bullet heaven survivor PvE game mode during the mid-year event. In this mode, you’ll be able to fight against hordes of enemies by yourself or with friends.
The Champion Mastery system is in for an update as well. Thanks to the player feedback, the devs decided to make champion-specific titles in the updated system permanent. It will also be easier to get Mastery with the new system, since it will no longer factor in team performance. The targeted release date is May 15, alongside the patch 14.10.
Lee Sin’s visual overhaul is well underway. The team shared a special blog post where you can learn everything there is to his ASU.
