Macabre Museum Invites You Inside to Discover Mysteries

Macabre Museum

Different Monster has introduced the world to Macabre Museum, an upcoming adventure horror game. The title offers players a chilling experience as they step into the museum. The museum features doors and worlds inspired by exploration and history. Players will venture across Ancient Egypt, Mesoamerica, and beyond. But as with all good things, there is a dark side along the way. Dangers lie ahead as players uncover the secrets of these exhibits.

The game can be played solo or in groups of up to four. Solo players will wander the museum alone if they are brave enough. With friends, the goal is to work together to face sinister trials and escape alive. Developers have promised a nod to childhood favorites delivered in “a dark, adrenaline-inducing action-packed game”. This includes nighmarish exhibits, facing off against swarms of creatures, fighting monsters, and solving brain-melting puzzles.

Features include
  • First-person, 1-4 player co-op: The bigger your team the greater the challenge, so you’ll need to work together if you plan on leaving alive
  • A Vast Cast of Monsters: Venture out into other worlds to run, hide and fight against mummies, minotaurs, and demented kings, amongst other mythical and ancient beasts
  • Face the Swarm: Deadly piranhas, scarabs, giant spiders, and other pesky creatures all surround you to bring you to impending doom
  • Dastardly Puzzle Traps: Use your wits to escape flooding chambers, burning towers and more
  • Fatal Obstacle Courses: Ascend savage, booby-trapped cenotes, and evade the souls of the dead in the River Styx
  • Get Out: Collect crystals from each exhibit to breakout from the museum
  • Go Again: Deep replayability as each session has a randomised sequence of exhibits and events

“We’ve been really inspired by nostalgic movies and TV shows, and that feeling you get when walking around a museum and just imagining what would happen if the mummy in the display case suddenly woke up!” Different Monster’s Creative Director says, “we’re very excited to announce Macabre Museum and share what we’ve been working on with the gaming community. This announcement trailer is just the start, and we can’t wait to show everyone more soon!”
