Rollerdrome meets the 100m dash today as Sumo Newcastle drop reveal Deathsprint 66.
Ready. Set. Deathsprint! Sumo Newcastle and Secret mode are moving away from Call of Duty Vanguard to something a little more sporting. Today dropped the first look into the future of contestant driven blood sports, with a teaser trailer for Deathsprint 66. The upcoming gallop for survival is due to begin later this year on PC, and now we’ve got a slightly better idea of what’s ahead.
Not Your Average Park Run
The minute or more of video, above, doesn’t give us a lot of information to go on. It does seem to confirm that in a far future dystopia, cloning is commonplace. The Bachman Media Network has repurposed this technology to allow bloodthirsty audiences to get a primetime view as participants tether in and run. 8 player PvP on-foot races across extreme obstacle courses that push the boundaries of entertainment. Mines, chasms, wall runs, spike traps, ingenious power ups, and even EMPs all make this more than the average park run.
Players competing as Clone jockeys have an endless supply of mindless automatons to eviscerate in 8v8 PvP races. These encounters traverse a range of locations, spanning long-abandoned cities of the old world. This Bachman Media Network has built a series of deadly racetracks designed for one purpose – to keep their blood-thirsty viewers entertained.
When Things GO!
The new teaser trailer gives us a look, but you’re likely to find out more about what’s coming over on the official Steam Store page. This online PvP encounter is only confirmed for PC right now, but you can drop a wishlist ahead of release. Find out more on Steam now.
