Bandai Namco just sprung a new trailer on us for Sand Land
Dragon Ball Creator Akira Toriyama and Bandai Namco surprised us back in June 2023 with details of a brand new anime action game called Sand land. After something of a dry spell, the team behind this boisterous battle for some liquid relief just dropped a new trailer. Introducing potential players to a world ravaged by human hubris and natural disaster, the new glimpse at a barren world introduces us all to the Fiend Prince Beelzebub and a gang of human compatriots. They’re on a quest to find a legendary spring, but the journey isn’t exactly going to be easy. The 2 minute 20 seconds of forward looking action includes a glimpse of what awaits. Tank battles, exaggerated melee combat, boss encounters, and a ferocious Royal Army stand between this unusual group of heroes and a wet end.
Sand Land is an unusual choice for a video game adaptation, having managed a run in weekly manga Shonen Jump, but never really making the leap beyond. The decision to bring this outlandish desert story to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC was, therefore, not one anybody expected. You can check out more about this unsung classic over at the Sand Land website now.
