Songs of Conquest Welcomes Players to the Battlegrounds Mode

Team Lavapotion, the developers of turn-based strategy Songs of Conquest, have shared a new blog post to invite players to fight in the new Battlegrounds game mode. In this game mode, that is directly accessible from the main menu, players can jump straight into battle with no need to set up an Adventure Game.

According to the blog post, you can just pick an army created by the team or even create one yourself and start battling in Quickplay. With the Army Creator, you can build an army based on predefined Wielders and the troops of your choice. Start battling against random opponents online, tackle the AI, or invite a friend to a match – all of that is possible in the Battlegrounds.

The team is also releasing a new map called Bad Neighbors which is all about winning, no matter the cost. The campaigns have also gotten an “Easy” setting, so you can make it all the way to the end without breaking too much of a sweat!

“As for gameplay changes, there are a few ones of extra noteworthyness! Dead Wielders now count towards the total number of Wielders the player can have, and Wielders can no longer be disbanded. However: Dead Wielders can always be revived, even if it brings the total number of living Wielders above the current limit. Disband and Wielder limits weren’t working as we intended and hopefully, these changes will remedy that!”

Check out the official Steam blog post to learn more and to see the latest changelog to the game. Additionally, the developers have shared the Songs of Conquest roadmap update that can be found here.
