Try 5 Hours of the Unicorn Overlord Demo

Atlas just dropped a new trailer and an epic sized Unicorn Overlord demo.

Altus and Vanillaware have opened up the continent of Fevrith for adventurers. A new Unicorn overlord demo is available now on Nintendo Switch and on 23 February for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S. Even better, it’s a sizeable five hours of gameplay, giving eager players plenty of content to try out.

If you’re new to this upcoming tactical RPG, then this is probably the perfect time to try it out. The fantasy narrative finds players dropping onto a continent embroiled in strife. Taking control of the exiled prince Alain, players taking up the campaign will get a taste of what’s to come, if they choose to gather an army and try to overthrow the evil General Valmore. Player will be able to gather armies from across the kingdoms, configure troops, define movements, and strategize to take down enemies in real time encounters.

A new trailer gives us a glimpse of this, and the utterly gorgeous art style. Mixing Octopath Traveler styled overworlds with beautifully illustrated character art, this feels like a definite nod to classic tactical RPGs of the 1990s. Sure, we could delve into the detail, but with a free demo and a development team that brought us 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, you’re better off just heading over to the official website and trying it out. If you love it, then Unicorn Overlord comes to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S on 8 March.
