LINE Games and Koei Tecmo Games have announced that its seafaring sandbox RPG, Uncharted Waters Origin, will be released on March 7, 2023. Players will be able to set sail for adventure across a number of platforms. Cross-play will be enabled between mobile devices, Steam Deck, and PC via Steam.
To celebrate the big news, developers released an all-new cinematic trailer that offers a peek at the adventures to be had in UWO.
Gameplay offers players a fun sandbox RPG experience that includes trading, seafaring combat, and “adventures” set in the 16th Century during the Age of Discovery. Origin has been created in honor of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. It is heavily influenced by the series most popular titles, New Horizons and Gaiden. Faithfully recreated for today’s modern systems, UWO features 4K graphics, an Unreal Engine 4 update, and a full OST including 104 different tracks.
Uncharted Waters Origin features include

- Follow Admirals’ adventures: Follow the admirals recreated from the original series, collect historical figures from the 15-17th century, and experience the game’s rich campaigns!
- Gameplay freedom on the high seas: Become a big fish through trading to invest in developed cities.Become an unbeatable pirate king using strengthened ships.
- Moving OST and veteran voice actors: More than 104 fully orchestrated soundtracks, including the famous soundtrack that represents the original Uncharted Waters series, composed by the famous composer, Yoko Kanno.Our lineup of passionate, veteran voice actors will help players immerse themselves in the game.
