Uncharted Waters Origin Surfaces For Steam Next Fest

Uncharted Waters Origin 0 ship at sea

Uncharted Waters Origin, the upcoming massive online sea-faring adventure from Koei Tecmo, is aiming to make waves with a Steam Next Fest demo.

Prepare to set sail, with a short cruise into the world of Uncharted Waters on 6 February. The latest in a line of buccaneering RPGs from Koei Tecmo is set to make an appearance during Steam Next Fest. Between 6 February and 13 February, players will be able to go explore a massive online world and potentially send their competition to a watery grave. Publisher Line Games confirmed that players will be able to try out the swashbuckling title and earn a bunch of in-game items prior to the mainline release. How much else we will see is unknown.

For those that are still busy honing their cannon skills in Sea of Thieves, Uncharted waters offers a watery sandbox where captains can enjoy trade, combat, and adventure content during the 16th century Age of Discovery. The full release will feature a massive play space, covering 1/320 of the real world. That includes 8 national powers, 200 ports, 60 villages, over 300 battlegrounds, and over 20 types of weather. No matter if you chose to follow the traditional campaign of set course for freedom to go explore and trade, there are tons of ways to play nice, or engage in combat to sink other players in PvP.

Uncharted Waters Origin commemorates the 30 years legacy of the franchise and is based on the series’ most popular title, Uncharted Waters II: New Horizons and Uncharted Waters: Gaiden. The game recreates the original series with 4K graphics of Unreal Engine 4, and over 104 fully orchestrated soundtracks including the original tracks by YoKo Kanno adding to the immersive experience. Unlike more western orientated titles like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Uncharted Waters Origin will make shores across iOS, Android, and PC, with full cross-play. For now, you can ready those sea legs for a PC demo during Steam Next Fest by visiting the Steam Store now.
