What’s Next for WoW Classic

Developer Blizzard Entertainment has been on hand during the BlizzCon23 convention to provide players with a sneak peek of the things to come. WoW Classic received a number of news and updates to look forward to. Hardcore players are in for a new, self-sufficient spin that blocks trading, Deathwing arrives with the release of Cataclysm Classic and, perhaps the most exciting of all, is the announcement of WoW Classic: Season of Discovery.

Classic Hardcore will receive a new gameplay option in early 2024. This Self-Found mode will let you know what Hardcore without trading is like. Are you sure your toon can handle it?

Players have already advanced through Vanilla, The Burning Crusade and are wrapping up the Wrath of the Lich King saga. And so it’s time to look forward, to the expansion that changed the face of Azeroth forever. Welcome WoW Classic: Cataclysm servers!

“As previously announced, Classic progression realms will advance to Cataclysm Classic next year, bringing players to the exciting aftermath of Deathwing’s assault on Azeroth, along with playable Goblins and Worgen, new Race and Class combinations, the Transmogrification system, Archaeology, and Rated Battlegrounds. The Classic release of Cataclysm also means five new zones, ten new dungeons, and seven challenging raids to overcome.”

There will be certain changes to the expansion such as the new dungeon difficulties and rewards, guild progression updates, an account-wide Transmogrification system, and more.

Last but certainly not least is the announcement of a new seasonal spin on the Classic journey: the Season of Discovery.

In Season of Discovery, players will discover new secrets by scouring Azeroth to find class-altering abilities. Tanking Warlocks, Mage healers, and more will be possible. The Season will launch with an initial level cap of 25, and upon reaching max level, players will be met with a new level-25 endgame.

Discover a 10-player Blackfathom Deeps raid with new and reimagined bosses, mechanics, and rewards. At a later point, players will enjoy a level cap increase.

Season of Discovery rolls out on November 30th, with no prior public testing to keep the mysteries for longer.
