11 Bit Studios Will unleash The Thaumaturge on PC This December

Demons walk the Warsaw streets this winter when The Thaumaturge arrives on 5 December.

11 Bit Studios has announced a launch date for the intriguing new RPG set on the streets of Warsaw. Mixing the isometric RPG ideas of Disco Elysium with a horrific twist, this brand new adventure drags players into a bustling, multicultural hub where terrors lurk beneath the surface.

Set 1905, this narrative follows protagonist Wiktor Szulski back home to a city that is as grim as it is colorful. Riddled with crime and conflicting interests, this is a breeding ground for humanity’s darker shades of morality. Demons prey on the weak and only a few can control these monsters. Salutors, demons that feed on human flaws can only be controlled by Thaumaturges. Whether that’s simply attacking a street thug or bending the will of your own inner demons to prod a contemporary in the right direction, the Thaumaturges wield a powerful weapon and a curse.

Developer Fool’s Theory are about to give us all a taste of this power. Ahead of the December launch date, a new Steam demo is set to go live. Just in time for Next Fest, and running through until 16 October, players can experience The Thaumaturge for themselves. The demo provides a glance at the game’s prologue introducing them to the beginning of Wiktor’s story. You can check out a trailer before jumping into the mean streets and taking on some supernatural turn-based combat over on the Steam Store page now.
