AER Memories of Old Takes Flight on Nintendo Switch Today

AER Memories of Old takes to the skies again as publisher Deadalic brings a long-forgotten tale to the Nintendo Switch today.

Originally Developed by Forgotten Key and released back in 2017, AER Memories of Old is a gorgeous adventure game with a twist. Now, with the help of developers On The Outskirts, who were founding members of the game’s original development team, this adventure takes a new band of players above the bustle of normal adventure games. This experience transforms players from an uninspired biped into a bird and explores a vibrant world full of floating islands.

More Than An Island

It’s not just an interesting geological pattern that you’ll experience in AER Memories of Old. By taking on the role of the young nomad girl Auk, players will follow in the footsteps of the gods. After their disappearance generations ago, the few remaining tribes have fought against fragmentation and a slow decay. Take flight and solve the mysteries of the abandoned ruins that are lost to time.
AER Memories of Old seems like a great fit for the Nintendo Switch. The interesting take on normal adventure games, a whole host of puzzles, and a vivid low poly aesthetic seems almost engineered for Nintendo’s mobile powerhouse.

We have yet to see if the game has any adaptations especially for the Nintendo Switch but with a plethora of positive responses on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and Linux you can be sure this is more than a brief flight of fancy. AER Memories of Old is available now via the Nintendo eShop for £17.99 / €19,99. You can check out more of this gorgeous game in the release trailer above. Alternatively, you can glide on over to the game’s Opencritic page for more details.
