Microsoft and the Age of Empires team have announced the 25th Anniversary Broadcast coming on October 25th. Franchise fans will be able to view the special online event via Twitch, the AoE site, and YouTube (AoE, Xbox, and Red Bull Gaming pages). The team has tons of goodies in store, including interviews, announcements, and “plenty of surprises.”
Game fans will be thrilled to hear that the dev team is kicking off the celebration with a pair of cool announcements:
- The AoE IV Anniversary Update that brings the Ottoman and Malian civilizations into the game. In addition, players will find new mastery challenges, achievements, and eight new maps/biomes. Season Three will begin after the release of the Anniversary Update, and Ranked Team Games will also kick off. Lastly, a number of naval balance improvements and waypoint markers are part of the update.
- The AoE IV Anniversary Edition is a new package that includes the base game and all of the updates/improvements made since the game launched. It will also include the Anniversary Update mentioned above. This new edition of the game will be available beginning October 25th on Steam, Windows, and PC Game Pass.
