Over the past weekend, Studio Wildcard developers hosted a special Extra Life charity fundraising event while playing Ark: Survival Evolved. Fans and the community could donate while devs streamed ARK during the event. Over 24 hours, developers played and streamed ARK, and the community raised over $130,000 for kids thanks to Extra Life, a Children’s Miracle Network program.
Also during the streaming challenge, the team made some pretty awesome announcements for fans and players of the game.
- Players will be able to play a “re-evolved” version of Survival of the Fittest when it goes live in December 2022. The prototype game mode will launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in December. Switch players will get in on the fun in 2023.
- Developers have revealed the next dinosaur coming to the game: Carchrodontosaurus. This formidable beast will come with a “noteworthy set of abilities” that put it in line with some of the game’s most feared carnivores (check out the video below).
- Dinosaur Discovery is prepped and ready to go. It launches today, November 9th. It is a free download exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
- Expanded story content is coming in December with new cinematic cutscenes. These epic cutscenes will feature Madeleine Madden (Wheel of Time) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) in their original roles as Helena Walker and Sir Edmund Rockwell.
