Warner Bros. Games and Turtle Rock Studios have announced the next DLC expansion for Back 4 Blood. River of Blood will make its debut on December 6, 2022 as part of the Annual Pass, the Deluxe Edition, or the Ultimate Edition. Players can also buy River of Blood as a standalone purchase.
River of Blood features and all-new story campaign spread across five maps. Players will travel upriver and stop at a number of differnt spots along the way. While stopped, players will need to collect supplies and take on any and all new enemy threats.
The DLC also introduces Tala, a former cultist outcast now turned Cleaner. She’s accompanied by a Ridden companion named Jeff. This “Tallboy” can be summoned in battle to help out the team.
Lastly, River of Blood brings eight exclusive character skins and a dozen exclusive weapon skins. Of course, players can also expect new weapons, accessories, and cards.
Trial of the Worm will be available as a free update for all owners. It will release alongside the River of Blood expansion. Trial of the Worm is a cooperative PvE mode where players determine their path down a four-map chain. They earn Supply Points along the way. Players can add Corruption Modifiers or choose the more vigorous paths to increase difficulty and boost the amount of Supply Points rewarded. Those looking for a challenge or a more customized difficulty can work towards completing Trial of the Worm with a high score.
Players can also look forward to the Holiday Event that will run from December 6th to January 4th. Players will enjoy festive decorations in Fort Hope while listening to holiday music at the jukebox. There will be holiday-themed skins, emblems, weapon skins, and sprays to collect as well.
