Bleach is Joining Jump Force

If any game managed to cause as much commotion as Cyberpunk 2077 during E3 then it had to Bandai Namco’s Jump Force. The open world brawler caused quite the stir when the first trailer dropped during the Xbox conference. Now Jump Force is ready to unveil its Bankai. That’s right, Kurosaki Ichigo is coming to Jump Force!

Jump Force is Bandai Namco’s open world beat em up that brings the heroes of your favorite Shonen Jump series together in one epic battle. Utilizing the Unreal 4 engine, it puts characters from Dragonball Z, One Piece, and now Bleach, into real-world locations to settle those playground scores.

For any of you that have managed to miss both anime and manga altogether, Bleach, alongside Naruto and DragonBall Z, stands as one the seminal gateways into the world of, superhero transformations, oversized swords, epic battles, and a never say die attitude that always seems to pull through in the end. This particular series follows the exploits of a fiery red-haired teenager who inherits the powers of a Shinigami, a sword-wielding death god who hunts some pretty horrific demons.

Of course, he will not be alone and brings two more characters with him. Rukia Kuchiki is a Shinigami from a noble family who wields an ice type blade, named Sode no Shirayuki. She also specializes in Kido, a form of Shinigami magic that may very well give this character great flexibility.

Sōsuke Aizen rounds up the Bleach entourage and is an entirely different soul reaper. A captain of the Gotei 13, this mild-mannered man hides a mysterious past and the limits of his abilities should not be underestimated.

Bandai Namco has not revealed anything more about the characters as they appear in Jump Force but the inclusion of Bleach in Jump Force is a massive deal. Despite being arguably overshadowed by more successful anime like Naruto, Bleach has almost no appearances in western games. It seems, however, with the upcoming launch of a live action Bleach move, later in 2018, that we are going to get to see Kurosaki Ichigo unsheath his sword one more time.
