Cookie Run Kingdom is 2 years old and the celebrations have already begun with the new Invitation From the Slumbering Moon update.
Not long after we scarpered all the way to Korea to catch a Suga Cookie, Devistars has just dropped a celebratory update to their tasty mobile title. Players across iOS and Android can now expect to dip into a new story chapter, find new cookies, battle Cake Hounds, and even meet some confectionary conjuring wizards in Cookie Run Kingdom. This cake-tinged adventure unlocks a new narrative as part of the delicious update, sending guardians of the peace out into the fabled City of Wizards. Dream Express is the 15th major addition to the core of Cookie Kingdom’s tale, and whether you consider that to be full of fondant or a sticky surprise it’s probably going to be magical this time around.
Along the way, two new Cookies will emerge. Moonlight Cookie is a legendary magic cookie created by ancient wizards. Moonlight Cookie’s skill “Dream of the Night Sky” drops stars onto the enemies’ heads to cause damage-increasing debuff and shines moonlight to put them to sleep, restoring Moonlight Cookie’s own HP. She will also restore her HP upon awakening from sleep effects cast by enemies.
Milky Way Cookie, the trustworthy conductor of the Dream Express, is an epic charger cookie. While casting the skill “Sugarcloud Express,” Milky Way Cookie jumps onto her train, gaining DMG reduction buff and providing a stun resistance buff for the entire team. After she gets off the train, she will cast a shield onto herself and the rest of the team.
These two new flavors aren’t the only changes to combat. Five special new toppings enter the arena, which only select Cookies can equip. Special toppings’ will provide set effects when equipped, and their minimum value for bonus effect will be higher than the regular toppings. Each of these extras will be incredibly useful in the aforementioned Cake Hound battles. Each of these 30-second encounters will force the Cookies to fight off adversaries. Rewards for succeeding include “Cake Crumbs” and “Glowing Cake Crumbs”, which can be exchanged for various useful items for players’ kingdoms.
Kingdom Rewards
Once the new City has been thoroughly devoured, layers can return home and try out a range of new customizations for the Fountain of Abundance, Arena Statue, and Kingdom backgrounds. There’s also a change to the UI that will allow players to check in on their Kingdom’s prosperity. This tracker will give a solid overview of items like the Cookie Castle level, the number of landmarks, and the number of Sugar Gnome Laboratory research projects. All the better for tracking everything that can be upgraded in this mobile RPG.
