Behaviour Interactive has announced a new chapter for Dead by Daylight. Forged in Fog takes players into a “distant era” and introduces both a new Killer and a new Survivor into the game. In addition, players will discover an all-new map to explore called The Shattered Square. Forged in Fog will be available on November 22, 2022. Players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows Store will be able to take part.
A new genre of horror joins DbD: medieval horror. “This theme is uncharted territory in our universe,” explains Dave Richard, Creative Director for Dead by Daylight. “Bringing these two concepts to life has been thrilling, and I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished.” These genre elements are evident throughout The Shattered Square, where the cinders of burnt buildings still glow, remnants of The Knight’s fateful visit…and since marked by the passage of The Entity.”
The Knight is the game’s newest Killer and he brings some new tricks to bear. He commands a trio of allies: The Carnifex, the Assassin, and The Jailer. Along the way, he can use his own unique Power to throw down a Standard Flag that summons an AI-controlled Guard. Unwary Survivors will be caught in the web if they’re not careful. The Guard can survey, patrol, hunt, and chase Survivors. He can also damage Pallets and Generators. The key for Survivors is to outsmart the Guard by staying alive until the timer ends, unhooking a fellow Survivor, or catching the Standard Flag once activated.
The new Survivor is named Vittorio Toscano. He is a scholar searching for ancient secrets that will bring peace and harmony to the world. Toscano and The Knight got along well until things went south. During an expedition, The Knight revealed his true intentions.
