Blizzard Entertainment has updated the Diablo 2 Resurrected site with new information about Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 3. Players will have a lot to look forward to once the season launches, including a ladder reset, new rune words, and quality of life improvements. Let’s take a look.
Ladder Season 3 starts on Thursday, February 16th. Players will set off on the race to be the first to reach Level 99 and sit atop the ladder. Of course, they’ll want to gather powerful gear along the way but developers have a surprise to help shake up the meta. With Season 3’s arrival, the team is also releasing a whopping eight new Rune Words. There’s no doubt that the addition of these new Rune Words will have a significant impact on the race to 99. But wait! That’s not all. Blizzard devs are also adding changes to the availability of Sundering Charms, existing Rune Worlds, and all-new Horadric Cube recipes.
Ladder Season 3 will have four modes as it has in past seasons. Players can try to reach the upper echelons of the ladder in Pre-Expansion, Pre-Expansion Hardcore, Ladder, and Hardcore Ladder modes.
About those Rune Words
The new Rune Words become available to players at level 35. Each offers players several stats that can change how the game is played. For instance, the Hearth Rune Word makes it impossible for players to be frozen. Hustle gives huge bonuses to Armor and Weapons.
We are introducing eight new Rune Words for Ladder and Offline Single-Player play. Our intent with introducing these additional Rune Words is to sprinkle variety into the competitive meta. This allows players to forge new strategies as they race to Level 99. The bulk of these Rune Words focus on bolstering resistance bonuses. The other Rune Words are centered on movement speed, and Assassin and Druid builds.
