Developer Blizzard Entertainment has officially released the latest entry in the beloved dark fantasy series. Previously, only owners of certain Diablo IV editions could begin the fight with Lilith, but with full release the gates of Hell burst open and Sanctuary now welcomes all defenders. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4 and PS5.
To bring players up to speed on all things Diablo, the team previously shared a number of lore-related videos. This list includes the story launch trailer as well as a number of animated entries into the Book of Lorath series. If you have ever wanted to learn more about the universe of Diablo, such as how the Burning Hells and the High Heavens came to be stuck in the Eternal Conflict and what it means for Sanctuary, check them out!
While it has been some time since Archangel Malthael’s crusade against the mortals of Sanctuary, the world has not yet totally healed from that tragedy. And it is in this fragile and broken state the father and mother of Sanctuary return. It may not mean the best for humanity, despite the distant familial connection. The two will once again cross paths, and what was built is now at risk of destruction. Will you answer Sanctuary’s cry for help? Choose between five playable classes – Necromancer, Sorcerer, Barbarian, Druid or Rogue – and combat the unremitting darkness enhanced by Lilith’s arrival.
Additionally, players can earn some hellish in-game rewards from Twitch Drops dedicated to the arrival of Diablo IV.
- June 5 to June 11 – Rogue & Necromancer. Watch for 6 hours in total to get Azurehand Back-Stabber Dagger, Azurehand Heart-Piercer Sword as well as Matron-Sigil Coffer (Rogue) and Progenitor Favor (Necromancer) Back Trophy.
- June 12 to June 18 – Sorcerer. Watch for 6 hours in total to get Azurehand Spell-Slinger Wand Weapon Recolor as well as Hellrune Tabernacle Back Trophy;
- June 19 to June 25 – Druid. The same deal: watch any eligible Diablo IV content with Twitch Drop active for 6 hours to get Azurehand Head-Cleaver Weapon Recolor and Font of the Mother Back Trophy;
- June 26 to July 2 – Barbarian. Keeping the best for the last: tune into any eligible content for 6 hours to receive Azurehand Skull-Crusher and Matriarch’s Mantle Back Trophy.
Last but not least: you can also show your support for eligible Diablo IV creators by gifting their channel 2 Twitch subscriptions of any tier. Doing so will earn you the rugged Primal Instinct Mount as a reward. This promotion is available between June 5 and July 2.
