Hell is drawing ever closer with Diablo IV’s release coming on June 6th. To hype players up for the return of Lilith, developer Blizzard Entertainment shared the story launch trailer of the game demonstrating what awaits you once the teeming hordes of evil invade Sanctuary. The video features moments from the previously released cinematics such as “By Three They Come” as well as in-game cutscenes.
The father of Sanctuary, Inarius, also makes his appearance as the armies of the faithful clash against the demons. The Angel and the Daughter of Hatred make their return 50 years after the events of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. While it has been some time since Archangel Malthael’s crusade against the mortals of Sanctuary, the world has not yet totally healed from that tragedy.
And that dramatic return may not mean the best for humanity, despite the distant familial connection. The two will once again cross paths, and what was built is now at risk of destruction.
