Funcom and Shiro Games have announced that Dune: Spice Wars will be heading for a September release date for PC via Steam. After a little over a year, developers feel the game is ready for retail release after five major updates that massively expanded the game.
Developers are keen to show what players can expect with the v1.0 release version. During yesterday’s Gamescom, the team unveiled a new trailer to showcase features, location, and gameplay from the upcoming 4x real-time strategy title.
Dune: Spice Wars lets you lead one of the Great Houses of the Imperium to dominate Arrakis and the flow of spice. Through intrigue, warfare, economy, and spycraft, you will rule the deserts or be buried in them.
Features include
- Forge a path to victory. Balance open warfare, subterfuge, political influence, and economic supremacy to prevail and gain control over the most important planet in the universe. Use secretive agents to sabotage the plans of your opponents. Vote on political resolutions in the Landsraad to further your strategy. Or dominate your opponents by overwhelming them with an all out assault.
- Choose a faction. Whether you choose survival tactics, shady dealings, military might, or dominating the spice trade, there is a faction and councilor combination for every player’s preference. Explore the possibilities and shape your own destiny on Arrakis.
