ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights, a beautiful new Japanese metroidvania, just launched on PC and Nintendo Switch. Plunging player into a desolate world this particular quest builds a stunning 2D environment filled with gargantuan undead monstrosities to overcome. As players journey through this environment, They’ll unravel a mystery, engage formidable foes and master a vast array of combat mechanics to see off any trouble.
Anybody who wakes in this new realm will find themselves stepping out of a seemingly abandoned cathedral, fight through the horrors lying within, and uncovering the devastation that awaits in the kingdom of Land’s End. Taking control of priestess Lily, you’ll guide this unassuming character past former friends who are now torturously malformed and exorcise them of the blight to bring them into your party as companion spirits. When it simply comes down to fight or flight, Lily can utilize melee, ranged, magic, and other skills by recruiting defeated foes. Talents can be further tweaked using a range of hidden relics, each suited to a different style of combat.

Now ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights is out for real, developers Live Wire, Adglobe Tokyo and Adglobe Montreal Studio have added in five gorgeously hand-illustrated areas for the v1.0 update, bringing the total up to eight. The fluid gameplay remains largely untouched, and the fantastic score by Mili, of Ghost in the Shell fame, is a definite highlight of this experience.
