Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76 has been patched to bring the Once in a Blue Moon update into the game. Players will find new content to explore in the form of two new public events and “meet” two new cryptids. The update is available for all players who own the base game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Developers are excited about the two new events, Safe and Sound and Beasts of Burden. To offer players a peek into how these events play out, devs released an all-new trailer.
New events
- Safe and Sound – The Middle Mountain Cabins have been renovated to become the latest and greatest Brahmin pitstop, but it seems unwanted guests frequently visit them. Players are tasked with keeping these critters away while also repairing The Repeller Speaker system so they can repel the creatures and keep their Brahmin safe and sound.
- Beasts of Burden – Luca Costa needs some help after a group of local Cultists stole his Brahmin and cargo of makeshift explosives. Players will need to help him get it back before his Uncle Vinny hears about it. Players should be vigilant to not disturb the local wildlife, as there’s been strange rumblings in the woods nearby.
Players will also meet up with new cryptids: The Blue Devil and Ogua. The Blue Devil is a dog-like creature that devs say will “test your wits.” If it howls, players will run away in fear. Ogua, on the other hand, is a shy but terrifying creature. It hunkers down into its shell to avoid damage so attack timing will be key.
Other components of the update include a bunch of new rewards and Season 13: Shoot for the Stars.
There’s a lot to unpack in the Once in a Blue Moon Update, so head to the Fallout 76 official site for more information.
