Funai Corporation has unveiled its inaugural attempt to take over your desktop with a fleet of four new gaming monitors to take on the established brands.
Funai, a Japanese electronics brand with plenty of experience in display systems is targetting big name brands with a range of new displays, geared to serve the most discerning viewer. Already available to buy, the new line of gaming displays come in both 32 and 27 inch varieties, with curved and flat panel options. They all feature an impressive 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms moving picture response time, and low input delay technology. This puts the Funai in competition with some serious gaming-ready devices, across a duo of price points.
FGM-27F445 and FGM-32F445
The flat panel iterations of these devices come with the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, and basic feature set. They incorporate the usual aggressive appearance that advertise their gamer credentials while incorporating the following specifications
- 1920×1080 Full HD
- VA Display Panel
- 240Hz Refresh Rate
- 1ms(MPRT) ultra-fast response rate for smoother images
- HDR Support delivers high contrast and rich colors
- AMD FreeSync™ Compatible
FGM-27C545 and FGM-32C545
The curved options in Funai’s array drop in a similar set of specifications, including the same resolution, 240Mhz refresh rate, and an unchanged MPRT of 1ms. They are also built around a pair of VA panels, meaning the differences are largely down to personal preference and size.
- 1920×1080 Full HD
- 1500R Curved VA Display Panel
- 240Hz Refresh Rate
- 1ms (MPRT) ultra-fast response rate for smoother images
- HDR Support delivers high contrast and rich colors
- AMD FreeSync™ Compatible
All of the options seem to support some form of HDR, although we don’t know what their rating is at this time. Owners will also get connectivity via HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, USB 2.0, and an earphone output for headphones.
These Funai gaming displays are available to purchase now via the Funai website and major retailers. Anybody looking to get in early will find the flat and curved 27″ gaming monitors at $399.99, with the 32″ flat and curved monitors retailing for $499.99. With an established electronics background, Funai products aren’t likely to be a waste of money but we’re waiting to see the scores before committing any cash here.
