Shanghai-based publisher E-Home Entertainment Development released their science fiction third-person shooter, Gene Rain, onto Xbox One today in the USA and Germany with releases in the rest of Europe and Russia scheduled for July 31st.
Gene Rain is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the lines between humanity and technology blur and a relentless war which will shape the future of mankind rages on. In a plight to propel humanity forward, Dr. Bill Feynman developed the titular chemical agent, gene rain, which would standardize human intelligence, making IQ equal. Disseminated by wind towers and atmospheric distribution, the world is split between those how have received the rain (and lived) and those who rebel against it along with the order it created.
Kavka Wang, Marketing Director at E-Home Entertainment Development said about the plot: “Gene Rain expands the plot through new human narrative structures and delves deep into moral convictions as in how far you will go to achieve your goal.”
Players will ride along with the Death Squad, a team of humans, robots, and human-robot hybrids as they seek to shut down the wind towers. Aided by nine different guns and an AI skill tree, you’ll dodge bullets and explosions to liberate humanity and save the future.
