505 Games has just announced that hardcore cyberpunk experience Ghostrunner is getting a DLC next year.
Not long after teasing this update during November, the publisher behind Control confirmed a huge update to Ghostrunner. Due to come tumbling onto PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG on 27 January, the newest addition to Ghostrunner is possibly the biggest update to this title thus far. Originally slated as a minor DLC add on, the upcoming Project_Hel will slot in an entirely new playable character and narrative for players to explore.
Focusing on one of the original titles bosses, it finds players in control of Hel, as she descends Dharma Tower on a bloody quest of her own. Unlike the original experience, this new story is far more fight than flight, meaning newcomers and veterans of the post apocalyptic cityscape will find something to play for. Aside from being able to tank an extra attack, Hel will still be able to run on walls, soar through neon cityscapes, and slice through six levels with a set of six fresh tracks at her back.
If you’re unwilling to wait for the full launch of this update by developers One More Level, All In! Games, 3D Realms, and Slipgate Ironworks, then players can sign up for an early private beta ahead of time via the linked sign up page.
Until then, anybody looking to get festive while they overcome this hardcore parkour experience can merry up Jack’s look in the original game with a free festive sword and glove bundle on December 7. You’ll be able to deck the halls of Dharma with your enemies thanks to Rudolph’s Run and Boon swords, the Solstice katana, or the Nini Wonderland blade and accessorize each one with its own matching glove.
