Shadow of the Mad King festival is back in Guild Wars 2 today with tons of new treats for Halloween.
Things that go bump in the night are here to stay a little longer this season. ArenaNet has announced that a ghoulish prankster is back in Tyria and Shadow of the Mad King festival is now live. Commanders from across Tryia an come together to explore a transformed lion’s Arch, wade into a spooky labyrinth, and grab some fiendish loot along the way.
While veterans of this annual expedition against the undead might be familiar with what’s up for grabs, it’s not all the same again. This year, players can lay off Steve the skeleton for a few minutes, because there are plenty of changes to the annual scarefest. A new blog post over on the Guild Wars 2 website confirms that Thorn got the builders in. The Clocktower jumping puzzle returns alongside with a creeping sensation of dread, but this year you’ll be able to try out a Stopped Clock Tower. Normally unavailable to visitors during maintenance, the Stopped Clock Tower allows for a slightly slower run around the infuriating ascent. Atop the new version, you’ll also find a special NPPC to craft a paper bag! Probably best to fit it over your head. Seem’s sensible.
The Wizard’s Vault has also adds new special objectives and more Astral acclaim. As usual, expect more ‘Mad King Says’, oodles of trick or treat bags, so much candy, Reaper’s Rumble, Ascent to madness, and more. The more you play the more chance you’ll have to grab a pair of Clawing Shadow Gloves, three horrifying new weapons, and a bunch of other loot. Best bring a big bag for all the goodies. Check out everything that’s on offer with the return of Shadow of the Mad King t on the Guild Wars 2 blog now.
