Hob is the upcoming adventure game from Runic Studios. It combines platforming with adventure with RPG with fighting all set in a beautiful game world. To show it off, Runic has released a brand new trailer, the first in quite awhile.
The game sends players off on an epic, if odd, adventure. The entire world is a mechanical structure overgrown with the usual trees, forests and other biomes. However, deep beneath this seemingly “normal” surface are other layers, each featuring their own unique structure, flora and fauna.
The trailer sends the viewer into that underground (and rather dark) warren to reactivate these “sleeping” layers. Runic says that the depths of the World Machine “is where synthetic fuses with the organic”.
Other features include:
- Presented without text or dialogue, Hob’s story is revealed as you explore the planet and interact with the strange lifeforms that inhabit it.
- Solve puzzles and repairing the planet. The landscape will change before your eyes, opening new areas to uncover and explore.
- Use your mechanical glove-arm abilities for traversal as well as combat.
- Travel in an open world, explore ruins, befriend sprites, and battle the rogue creatures that threaten their extinction.
You can learn more about the game on its official site.
