HoYoverse just released a Penacony BTS exposé and you have to see it
The previews might be over but there’s still more to learn about the version 2.0 update coming to Honkai Star Rail. This mix of sci-fi, pharmaceuticals, and roaring twenties excess has an entire studio working on it, and HoYoverse just dopped an utterly outrageous access all areas docu-teaser. Following on from the unexpected opening to the recent Special Program, this video is, really a lot more light-hearted than the serious opening moments make out.
Over the course of a 15-minute mockumentary, a roving reporter makes more than a few outlandish suggestions, interviews members of the team, and actually manages to disseminate a bit more information on Penacony. For example, between the in jokes, we’re introduced to the origins of this space hotel, the inspiration for the aesthetic, and a murderous looking Pompom.
There’s also some interesting morsels of information on the Dreamscape, where you’ll transform into different characters, change size, and warp the world to your will. Whether that’s changing your looks or ditching gravity to walk on walls. It’s not all about reimagining the wider world either. The teaser drops details on the Dream Ticker mini game, giving the impression that Penacony is going to reshape expectations. Just, not with a jump button.
