Hunt Showdown - Update 1.8 Is Now Live

Crytek’s PvPvE first-person shooter Hunt: Showdown received patch 1.8, primarily service-focused update. The developers have introduced some client and server performance fixes. The update also includes a number of changes and improvements across all maps, new tier 2 weapon lobby animations, changes to Cain and how he blends with the environment as well as some fixes to the first person view of certain hunters.

Server-side, the developers have made improvements on the physicalized entities in the world. This means the reduction of the processing costs attached to AI, doors, chains and other interactable objects. Additionally, the team removed and unused component that could impact server performance and made improvements to spikes caused by idle AI.

On the client-side, the team made improvements to the way the game interacts with Steam API. It will not resolve the performance issues for everyone, so developers from Crytek are using this update as a means to bring back the Lightweight profiler tool.
