Predator Routers are a new line of Wi-Fi7 home networking kit aimed at upping your game.
An aggressive name, some intense sounding numbers, and a sleek set of lines are all present for Acer’s latest bit of gaming hardware. This time, however, it’s not a set of speedy GPUs or even a big brand monitor. The Acer Predator Connect X7 5G CPE and Predator Connect T7 Wi-Fi 7 are a pair of new home networking choices that probably hunt ISP own branded routers for sport.
Revealed today, this bit of hardware news mean consumers will soon be able to grab the Predator Connect X7 5G CPE, incorporating products from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., combines Wi-Fi 7 and 5G connectivity for maximum throughput, offering BE11000 and network latencies as low as 1 ms. The Predator Connect T7 Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Router varies slightly, delivering fast and reliable wireless network connections with Wi-Fi 7 and support for Qualcomm® Multi-Link Mesh technology.
While the X7 5G CPE is ridiculous overkill for most of us, it uses both 5G and Wi-Fi 7, along with dual WAN connectivity to minimize disruptions. Anybody who doesn’t need gaming focused redundancy and load balancing system will likely favor the Wi-Fi focused T7 option. Both of these are built around Qualcomm’s latest advanced quad-core processor, and comes with support for features like Wi-Fi 7 tri-band throughput, 320 MHz channel support, 4K QAM, and Multi-Link Operation. Acer are purporting that it could double the speed output compared to Wi-Fi 6.
Upgrading to a new router won’t necessarily make you any better at video games, and the cost is more than just one new box. Take a look at our latest dip into Wi-Fi 6 hardware to see what other things you might need to consider, and whether you really need to move to Wi-Fi 7 already.
